| | | | Emory's first coronavirus patient began receiving infusion therapy as a result of Georgia CTSA's assistance in coordinating the approvals needed within 48 hours. Georgia CTSA's Navigator Team utilized the new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for its Rapid Response Team service to obtain fast-track approvals across the Emory system.

| | In the wake of the current 2019-nCoV outbreak, the MP3 Initiative has created a special grant cycle to specifically support the efforts for across scales research focusing on 2019-nCoV. The goal of the MP3 Initiative is to facilitate and grow basic and applied infectious disease research across scales at Emory, from molecules and pathogens within hosts to populations and pandemics. Sizable seed grants available to interdisciplinary teams of researchers, to provide proof-of-concept and preliminary results for subsequent applications for research grants, program grants, center grants and training grants. An explicit requirement is the subsequent submission of extramural grants. Grants are only awarded to teams of researchers from different schools at Emory.
