Seema Kini, MD, MSc, a graduate of the dual-degree MD/MSc program in the Emory Laney Graduate School and a trainee in the Atlanta Clinical & Translational Science institute (ACTSI) TL1 program’s inaugural cohort, recently joined the faculty of Emory Medical School as an assistant professor in Dermatology. T4 Translation Research Capacity Building Initiative in Low Income Countries (TREIN) (U24)-Due June 15

The purpose of this FOA is to solicit applications that propose to build in-country capacity through the creation of a trans-disciplinary investigative team to guide the conduct of late-stage translation phase 4 research (T4TR) in low income countries through skills development programming, needs assessment, and capacity building. Studies will be required to address chronic non-communicable heart, lung, blood, and sleep diseases and disorders in low income countries.

Healthy Volunteers Needed for Vascular Study

The Cardiovascular Imaging Research Core (CIRC) at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking healthy volunteers for a one-visit study looking at the frequency, risk factors, and clinical associates of vascular function. Males and females ages 10 to 21 years old are eligible. The visit will include a blood pressure test, blood draw, and chocardiographic imaging exams and last three to four hours. Emory Johns Creek Hospital Offer Free Health Screenings at Ladies Night Out Event-Thursday

Emory Johns Creek Hospital (EJCH) has partnered with Junior League of Gwinnett and North Fulton Counties to host its annual Ladies Night Out event from 6:00-8:30 p.m. in the hospital's education center. Free health screenings will be offered to women including: glucose, bone density, blood pressure and body mass index. Physicians will also be available to offer casual consultations to women. Light refreshments and dessert will be served.
