Georgia CTSA Investigators Honored as Health Care Heroes
Congratulations to Roxana Chicas, PhD, RN, and Nadine Rouphael, MD, selected as 2022 Health Care Heroes by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Dr. Chicas was recognized as the Rising Star honoree for increasing research inclusiveness through engagement and empowerment of farmworker communities. Receiving the Innovator-Researcher award, Dr. Rouphael was honored for organizing and overseeing COVID-19 prevention and therapeutic clinical trials.

Fundamentals of Epidemiology Course - August 29 to December 5
Faculty and postdocs are welcome to enroll in a fall semester course that is part of the curriculum in the Certificate Program in Translational Research at the Laney Graduate School. Tuition awards are not available, but faculty and postdocs at Emory may be eligible for the Emory Courtesy Scholarship if employed for at least one year. This is a semester-long course that meets on Mondays from 3:10 PM -5:00 PM from August 29 until December 5, 2022. For more information and instructions on how to enroll, contact Rachel Hardison .

Course in Advanced Data Management in R - August 30 to December 6
Faculty and postdocs are welcome to enroll in a fall semester course that is part of the curriculum in the Master of Science in Clinical Research degree program at the Laney Graduate School. Tuition awards are not available, but Emory faculty and postdocs may be eligible for the Emory Courtesy Scholarship which would cover tuition for the course. This is a semester-long course that meets on Tuesdays, from 3:10 PM to 5:00 PM from August 30 until December 6, 2022. This innovative, cohort-based model takes a three-pillared approach to mentoring and includes learning communities, 1:1 mentoring, as well as training, and resources.

Georgia Tech BME Capstone Design Fall 2022 – Due July 15
What's the answer to your "I wish I had..." or, "What if we could...?" when it comes to your ideas for enhancing patient care through novel medical device technology? What if you could partner alongside and advise a Georgia Tech Biomedical Engineering (BME) team to investigate and design a patentable solution for that idea in just 16 weeks? BME Capstone is seeking project proposals for the Fall 2022 semester. Capstone teams work over 500 hours per project to ideate, design, and prototype real solutions that address unmet clinical needs.
