NIH Common Fund Launches the Complement-ARIE Reduction to Practice Prize - Phase I Due: March 1

The NIH Common Fund has teamed up with NASA’s Tournament Lab to launch the Reduction to Practice Challenge, a shared $7M total prize competition inviting innovative New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) solutions that demonstrate integrated, human-based platforms in a practical form within three years. The challenge includes three phases: proof of concept and feasibility studies, prototype development with milestone achievements, and prototype delivery for independent validation. 

ARISEN Pilot & Early-Stage Investigator Research Grants - LOI Due March 6

The Autoimmunity, Rasmussen’s, Inflammation & Status Epilepticus research Network (ARISEN) is accepting applications for two pilot funding opportunities: a general Pilot Research Grant and an Early-Stage Investigator Research Grant, supporting innovative rare disease research aligned with the ARISEN mission. Applicants may apply to only one funding mechanism per cycle. LOIs due by 11:59 PM ET on March 6.

WHSC Food, Nutrition and Health Research Awards - Due March 16

The Woodruff Health Sciences Food, Nutrition and Health Research Awards invite proposals for one-year pilot projects advancing research on nutrition and its impact on health, with funding up to $100,000. Eligible faculty from the Emory SOM, SON, and RSPH must form cross-school collaborations. Proposals are due by 5:00 PM on March 16. View RFA. 

Georgia CTSA BERD Pilot Grants RFP - Proposals Due April 3

Georgia CTSA’s Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design (BERD) program is accepting proposals to support novel methodological research in biostatistics, epidemiology and related areas to advance clinical and translational research. Awards up to $20,000 are available to eligible faculty across Georgia CTSA partner institutions. Meritorious applications from new investigators will be prioritized for funding. Proposals Due: April 3, 5:00 PM.

2026 Pediatric Research Alliance Pilots - LOI Due April 9

The 2026 Pediatric Research Alliance Pilots offer two funding mechanisms - the Junior Faculty Focused (JFF) Award and the Center Award - each providing $50,000 per award to support new pediatric research initiatives. LOI due April 9, with full applications (by invitation only) due June 25.

Education and Training

Science Policy Fellowship - Applications Due February 26

The Gulf Research Program Science Policy Fellowship offers scientists and engineers a one-year placement with federal, state, local, or non-governmental agencies in the Gulf region to apply scientific expertise in real-world policy settings. Fellows engage in activities such as policy development, evaluation, restoration planning, grants management, and stakeholder outreach, with annual stipends ranging from $63,800 to $69,300 depending on degree status. SISMID 2026 - Applications Due February 28

The 18th annual Summer Institute for Statistics and Modeling in Infectious Diseases (SISMID) will take place online and in person at Emory University Rollins School of Public Health in June–July 2026. Scholarships, including the Halloran Scholarship, are available for eligible graduate students and postdoctoral scholars and may cover registration for up to two modules and in-person lodging. Scholarship applications open February 1, with a priority deadline of February 28. View Flyer.

Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR) - Apply by April 17

The Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR) is a 30-credit Emory Laney Graduate School program providing didactic and mentored research training for careers in clinical and translational research. Eligible applicants include predoctoral students, postdoctoral trainees, and early-career faculty from Emory, Georgia Tech, MSM, and UGA. Apply by 5:00 PM on April 17.

ATLANTIS U2C/TL1 Training Program - Apply by April 20

The ATLANTIS U2C/TL1 Training Program is accepting applications from pre- and postdoctoral scholars at Emory, MSM, and Georgia Tech conducting research in non-malignant nephrology, urology, or hematology. The program provides one year of research training support beginning July 1, including stipend support, travel funding, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Certificate Program in Translational Science (CPTS) - Apply by May 1

The Certificate Program in Translational Science (CPTS) is a 16-credit program offered through the Emory Laney Graduate School for trainees conducting research at the interface of basic, translational, and clinical science. Eligible applicants include predoctoral PhD, PharmD, or MD students; postdoctoral fellows; and early-career faculty from Emory, MSM, Georgia Tech, or UGA. Apply by 5:00 PM on May 1.

Fall 2026 Clinical and Translational Science Courses Available to Non-Degree Students

Emory faculty, postdocs, and PhD students are welcome to enroll in the following fall semester courses via Zoom through the Laney Graduate School: MSCR 515 Scientific Communication for Clinical & Translational Science, MSCR 596 Advanced Data Management in R, and CPTS 500 Fundamentals of Epidemiology. Tuition awards are not available, but faculty and postdocs at Emory may be eligible for the Emory Courtesy Scholarship if employed for at least one year. Apply by August 14.

TIN Training Program for Multicenter Clinical Trial Management - Apply Now

The Trial Innovation Network (TIN) is now accepting applications for its Spring 2026 Training Program for Multicenter Clinical Trial Management, running April–June 2026. This virtual, cohort-based program is designed for principal investigators and clinical research project managers transitioning from single-site to multicenter clinical trials and includes asynchronous modules and live discussion sessions. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and space is limited. View Flyer.

Winn Career Development Award - Apply by May 4

The Robert A. Winn Excellence in Clinical Trials: Career Development Award (Winn CDA) for early-stage investigator physicians is accepting applications for scholars. $120K/year for 2 years covers a portion of the scholar’s salary to engage in training and research. This program supports career development of early-career investigator-physicians through structured education and mentorship on community-oriented clinical trial design and implementation. Apply by May 4.

TIN Request for Collaborators on Stroke Trial

This is an open request for collaboration on the research study: Timing Of Gastrostomy in Acute Stroke (TOGAS). Dr. Adnan Qureshi, University of Missouri, is seeking a site-level investigator to collaborate on the TOGAS trial that examines whether a policy of early PEG tube placement (≤ 7 days post stroke onset) is non-inferior to the policy of deferred PEG tube placement (> 7 days post stroke onset) in stroke patients.
