Georgia CTSA Advisor Receives American College of Surgeons Jacobson Innovation Award
Congratulations to Georgia CTSA Executive Council Advisor Chris Larsen, MD, DPhil, Emory, for receiving the American College of Surgeons Jacobson Innovation Award. Dr. Larsen is an Emory kidney and pancreas transplant surgeon and immunologist, internationally recognized for transforming organ rejection prevention. The award honors living surgeons who innovated a new development or technique in any field of surgery.

The deadline for the UGA Institute for Multidisciplinary Translational Medicine (MTM) Shared Resources Pilot Program has been extended to Friday, July 31. This opportunity offers $5,000–$10,000 to support pilot projects using Spatial Biology and Integrated Genomics Shared Resources. This funding supports preliminary data generation, manuscript development, student technical training, and collaborative projects positioned for future external funding. Applicants must consult with SBIG personnel at least one week before the deadline.

Fall 2026 Clinical and Translational Science Courses Available to Non-Degree Students - Apply by August 14
Emory faculty, postdocs, and PhD students are welcome to enroll in the following fall semester courses via Zoom through the Laney Graduate School: MSCR 515 Scientific Communication for Clinical & Translational Science, MSCR 596 Advanced Data Management in R, and CPTS 500 Fundamentals of Epidemiology. Tuition awards are not available, but faculty and postdocs at Emory may be eligible for the Emory Courtesy Scholarship if employed for at least one year.
