Georgia CTSA Innovation Catalyst Director Co-Authors Research on Model for Preventing and Treating Microvascular Thromboinflammation
Corresponding co-author Wilbur Lam, MD, PhD, Emory/Georgia Tech/Children’s, reveals in Nature a new model that may revolutionize clot treatment—delivering the right medications, dose, and timing to save lives with novel combinations. “Because we created this system where we observe a blood clot on a chip over long periods of time, such as days to weeks, we can map out its entire resolution process, and that has never been done before,” says Lam.

Emory SOM in partnership with Winship, CHOA, Grady, and CFAR, invites applications for the P4 (Pivot, Proposal, and Planning Program) Fast Track Awards—a new funding mechanism supporting SOM faculty whose grants were recently terminated due to federal funding shifts. Awards of up to $100,000 (direct costs) are available for one year, with potential for renewal.
