CCOS is currently accepting applications from CTSA Program hubs interested in co-sponsoring an in-person Collaborative Workshop on a topic of their choice with CCOS and NCATS. The selected application will receive comprehensive planning support, expert guidance, high-level coordination, and all necessary materials from CCOS to ensure a successful event in Spring 2027. Request for Information: NIDA Strategic Plan - Due September 21

NIDA is requesting input on its 2027-2031 Strategic Plan. This plan will help guide NIDA's research priorities with the hope of addressing today's public health needs, leveraging new scientific opportunities, and tackling emerging challenges related to substance use and addiction. Submit your feedback by September 21.

NIH RFI on K-Awards - Due September 30

The NIH is seeking public input on potential funding models that would allow recipients of mentored K awards to serve as principal investigators of clinical trials while receiving support for the clinical trial through a funding mechanism separate from the K award.

NIH Director's Pioneer Award - Due September 9

This award seeks to support scientists who exhibit creative pioneering approaches to major challenges. This funding is open to all career stages and will provide $700,000 for five years. 

The Harrington Prize for Innovation in Medicine - Due September 14

The Harrington Prize for Innovation in Medicine, presented by the American Society for Clinical Investigation and Harrington Discovery Institute, honors a physician-scientist who has moved science forward with achievements notable for innovation, creativity and potential for clinical application. Each year one Harrington Prize recipient is chosen. Awarding an unrestricted $20,000 honorarium to a physician scientist who has moved science forward with achievements notable for innovation, creativity, and potential for clinical applications.

2026 Sony Research Award Program - Due September 15

The Sony Research Award Program provides funding for cutting-edge academic research. Through the $100,000 Faculty Innovation Award and the $150,000 Focused Research Award, the program helps build a collaborative relationship between faculty and Sony researchers. 

Emory Center for New Medicines: 2027 Therapeutic Advancement Awards - Due September 15

CNM is accepting pre-applications for the next cohort of Therapeutic Advancement Awards. These awards are uniquely designed to facilitate the rapid translation of promising, early-stage drug discovery projects at Emory.

* NIH Metastasis Research Network - Due September 25

The NCI is seeking applications for research on developing a comprehensive and cohesive understanding of cancer metastasis. Studies on all types of cancer are welcome, including rare and pediatric metastatic cancers.

* NIH Stadtman Investigator Program - Due September 30

This program is now accepting applications for tenure-track positions in the NIH Intramural Research Program. As a faculty member in the IRP, you’ll join a dynamic research community offering stable funding, intellectual freedom, shared resources, access to a wide range of scientific expertise, and the world’s largest hospital dedicated to clinical research.

2026 Lauren F. Collins STAR Emerging Research Pilot Award - Due October 15

This funding supports early-stage investigators and is dedicated to the memory of Lauren F. Collins, an early career leader and a remarkable scientist, clinician, and Emory colleague. Email questions to Deja L. Er, MPH.

NIH Advanced Development of Informatics Technologies for Cancer Research and Management - Apply by October 19

This program invites applications to enhance and disseminate emerging, user-friendly informatics technologies that support a wide range of cancer research, including discovery biology, population studies, and clinical and translational research.

American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Drug Hypersensitivity Research Grant - Due October 27

This funding opportunity aims to support research grant(s) to advance the state of knowledge, develop novel techniques, agents, methodologies, models, or applications that could have a significant impact on drug hypersensitivity research. This funding mechanism is designed to further research drug allergy/hypersensitivity for individuals with a current or future focus in drug hypersensitivity research.

NIAID Clinical Trial Implementation Cooperative Agreement (U01 Clinical Trial Required) - Due November 5

Are you planning a clinical trial that could advance the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of infectious, immunologic, or allergic diseases? This opportunity supports hypothesis-driven clinical trials that align with NIAID's research mission and address high-priority scientific questions. This NOFO provides funding for projects of up to five years, with the possibility of six- or seven-year project periods for studies with a strong scientific rationale and clearly defined milestones.

Georgia Tech IBB Center-type Proposal Team Seed Grant Program - Due December 31

The Seed Grant Program was created to bring IBB teams together to plan and submit large center-type proposals. This competition is a rolling submission, and the committee will select up to four awards per fiscal year, each for $5,000. Please note that all collaborators must be IBB faculty members who hold regular appointments at Georgia Tech.

Georgia CTSA K12 (formerly KL2) Clinical and Translational Research Career Development Program - Apply by February 1 (2-part Workshop 10/8 & 10/15)

Georgia CTSA K12 Program supports early-career faculty investigators (MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or PharmD) who are pursuing careers in clinical and translational research and clinical and translational science (CTS). The program provides personalized career development to become innovative translational scientists and leaders of multidisciplinary CTS research teams. The national CTSA Coordination, Communication, and Operations Support (CCOS) team announces three new working groups: Scaling a Reproducible CTSA/CTR Framework for Clinical Research Professionals Training Using a Collaborative Network Model Working Group; CTS Launchpad: National Training Criteria from Classroom to Career Working Group; and the Measuring Success in Translational Science Working Group. Be a part of conversations looking to address gaps in translational research and support the goals of the CTSA Programs.
