Request for Collaborators on Stroke and Dementia Prevention Study

This is a request for collaboration on the research study: Anticoagulation for Stroke and Dementia Prevention in Atrial Myopathy, CREATIVITY trial. Dr. Lin Yee Chen from University of Minnesota Twin Cities is seeking collaborators for this trial to determine whether a direct oral anticoagulant can significantly reduce the risk of a composite of ischemic stroke, mild cognitive impairment, dementia, and all-cause death in older adults with atrial myopathy and without prior ischemic stroke, mild cognitive impairment or dementia, or atrial fibrillation.

Request for Collaborators on Connective Tissue Disease-Related Interstitial Lung Disease Study

This is a request for collaboration on the research study: A Phase 2, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Efficacy and Safety Study of Obinutuzumab in Subjects with Connective Tissue Disease-Related Interstitial Lung Disease, OCTILIA. Dr. Evans Fernandez from National Jewish Health is seeking collaborators for this trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of administering obinutuzumab in patients with Connective Tissue Disease-Related Interstitial Lung Disease.

PCORNet Request for Collaborators on Sexual and Gender Minority Health Research

This is a request to PCORNet-affiliated researchers for collaboration on the research study: The TONAL Collaborative: Building Capacity for SGM Health Research in U.S. Public Health Region 6 (US-6). Phillip W. Schnarrs, PhD and John Oeffinger from The University of Texas at Austin are seeking collaborators for this trial who can support future patient-centered comparative effectiveness research to improve sexual and gender minority health outcomes.

PCORNet Request for Collaborators on Post-operative Delirium in Older Adults Study

This is a request to PCORNet-affiliated researchers for collaboration on the research study: Comparative effectiveness for delirium prevention: nurse guided vs standardized frequency of reorientation in the post anesthesia care unit (ReDi trial).  Dr. Frederick Sieber from Johns Hopkins University is seeking collaborators for this trial to understand the comparative effectiveness of standardized vs. post anesthesia care unit nurse-guided frequency reorientation protocols in decreasing post-operative delirium in frail older adult patients.

Call for Rural Health Papers – Submit an Inquiry by July 19

Preventing Chronic Disease (PCD), a public health journal published by the CDC, welcomes submissions for its upcoming collection, Rural Health Disparities: Contemporary Solutions for Persistent Rural Public Health Challenges. The goal of this collection is to capture current solutions to these challenges. Peer-reviewed articles in this collection will help advance the discourse on rural public health beyond biomedical models for chronic disease prevention. PCD encourages authors to explore the social determinants of health, environmental influences, policy interventions, and community-based initiatives contributing to chronic disease prevention in rural areas.

11th Annual UGA-FDA Medical Device Regulations Conference – August 21

The virtual conference on August 21 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm will be opened by leadership at FDA and UGA. Topics will be presented by highly experienced professionals and technical experts from FDA and the medical device industry. This year’s conference provides an opportunity to understand the complementary nature of information regarding current and forthcoming FDA policies, guidance, and regulations governing the medical device industry.
