Lenacapavir reduced HIV infections by 96%. “Because adherence to oral products can be challenging for some people, twice-yearly injectable lenacapavir for PrEP has the potential to be one of the most impactful interventions we could have to drive down new infections and bring us closer to ending the HIV epidemic in the United States,” said former Georgia CTSA KL2 Scholar Colleen Kelley, MD, MPH, Emory and a PURPOSE 2 Principal Investigator.

NIH has announced the Quantum Technology Prize Competitions under the Qu-BIT Program, aimed at advancing quantum sensing and quantum computing for biomedical applications. With a prize pool totaling $2.9 million, the competitions will focus on quantum sensing technologies for diagnostics and quantum algorithms for drug discovery and clinical predictions. These multidisciplinary challenges are open to U.S. citizens or teams with U.S. members, with submissions accepted from October 2024 through early 2025.

NIH has announced the upcoming NCATS Translational Science Education and Training Challenge. The Georgia CTSA Recruitment Center is recruiting patients or care partners who receive care at Emory Healthcare or Grady Hospital to join a Patient Panel. Researchers, care providers, or other faculty and staff can share the flyer linked here with interested patients. This panel will serve as a resource for all CTSA investigators who are looking to gain patient insight about specific aspects of their study, or general research topics. Panel discussion topics could include designing recruitment materials, developing consent language, best practices for research recruitment contact, and more.
