Funding (* New Opportunities)

*NOIP: NHLBI SBIR Phase IIB Small Market Awards to Accelerate the Commercialization of Technologies for Heart, Lung, Blood, and Sleep Disorders and Diseases

The NIH's Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program bridges the funding gap for small businesses developing biomedical products. The NHLBI anticipates issuing a funding opportunity in Fall 2024 to support SBIR Phase IIB projects, particularly targeting rare diseases and pediatric populations. These projects will require eventual FDA approval and involve partnerships with third-party investors to accelerate commercialization. Applications are expected by February 25, 2025.

Environmental Health Research – Due October 4

Apply for Pilot Program in Children’s Environmental Health Research Communication, funded by CHARTER (Center for Children’s Health Assessment, Research Translation, and Combating Environmental Racism). This program supports research on the role of the environment in children's health, with a focus on effectively communicating findings to communities, academia, and healthcare providers. Research Innovation Support and Enhancement (RISE) – Due November 15

CHARTER at Emory is accepting applications for the 2025 RISE Pilot Program, offering up to $12,000 to support impactful environmental health science research aligned with NIEHS goals. Phlebotomy 101 Training – September 26 & 27

Phlebotomy 101 is a two-day introductory classroom and clinical hands-on training that teaches the techniques of venipuncture. Led by the GCRC nurses, the course is offered to Georgia-CTSA affiliated partners.

Georgia CTSA KL2 Clinical and Translational Research Career Development Program – Apply by February 3

The goal of the KL2 Program is to support and enhance career development for junior faculty (MD, PhD, MD/PhD, PharmD) committed to a career in clinical and translational research (CTR) and clinical and translational science (CTS). Georgia CTSA is committed to assisting junior faculty at partner institutions to become independent, established, and ethical CTR and CTS investigators. Patients Needed for Georgia CTSA Recruitment Center's Patient Advisory Panel

The Georgia CTSA Recruitment Center is recruiting patients or care partners who receive care at Emory Healthcare or Grady Hospital to join a Patient Panel. Researchers, care providers, or other faculty and staff can share the flyer linked here with interested patients. This panel will serve as a resource for all CTSA investigators who are looking to gain patient insight about specific aspects of their study, or general research topics. Panel discussion topics could include designing recruitment materials, developing consent language, best practices for research recruitment contact, and more.
