Community-Academic Research Pilot Program
Georgia CTSA’s Community Engagement program aims to support community-university research partnerships and build community capacity to conduct health research that is responsive to the community’s health needs. This pilot grant program provides funding and technical assistance to community-based organizations (CBOs) and academic researchers/faculty to conduct community-engaged research. A maximum of two grants of up to $30,000 are awarded.

Community-Academic Research Partnerships Grants Program
Community Engagement is a core component of the Georgia CTSA, a collaborative effort of Emory University, Morehouse School of Medicine, Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), and the University of Georgia (UGA). The program aims to support community-university research partnerships, facilitate community input into university research, and build community capacity to conduct health research that is both responsive and relevant to the health needs of the community.
The Dissemination Program is designed to meet these aims through the provision of funding and technical assistance to community-based organizations (CBOs) to strengthen an existing community academic partnership by supporting their dissemination activities. Community Engagement invites proposals from CBOs in an established partnership with academic researchers affiliated with Morehouse School of Medicine, Emory University, Georgia Tech, or UGA. Selected partnerships must have already completed a community-engaged research project and must use the funds for dissemination activities.
The Pilot Study Grant program is designed to meet these aims through the provision of funding and technical assistance to CBOs to build capacity and skills to conduct research in collaboration with academic researchers. Community Engagement invites proposals from CBOs interested in conducting a research project in partnership with academic researchers affiliated with Morehouse School of Medicine, Emory University, Georgia Tech, or UGA. CBOs can request that Community Engagement help them find an academic partner or CBOs can request a grant for a pilot study to be conducted with an existing academic partner from one of the four Georgia CTSA universities.
