ACTSI Investigator Dr. Wendy Book in the News
Wendy M. Book, MD is Professor in the Cardiology Division, Emory Department of Medicine and Director of the Emory Adult Congenital Heart Center. Her research focuses on the outcomes in adults with repaired congenital heart defects such as those who have undergone Fontan palliation for single ventricle heart defects, and other palliative surgeries for moderate to complex congenital heart defects. In her spare time, she enjoys time with her family and is active in patient advocacy as president of the American Partnership for Eosinophilic Disorders, a nonprofit patient advocacy organization.

“Adult fontan failure – Distinct disease entity.” Int J Cardiol. 2014 Dec 15;177(2):650.
Book received a grant from CDC entitled, “Surveillance of Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs) Focusing on Adolescents and Adults.”
Book served as a mentor in the Discovery phase of the Emory School of Medicine’s curriculum. This program is a major part of the students’ training and sets them apart from graduates of other medical schools.
