Awards & Recognition:

Shaw was awarded the 2015 Dean’s Distinguished Faculty Lecture and Award, among the most prestigious and celebratory honors that the School of Medicine can bestow on a faculty member. Learn more

Shaw received the 2015 recipients of the Albert E. Levy Award for Excellence in Scientific Research for senior faculty, for her work on the effectiveness of cardiovascular imaging, especially in women, the university's highest research honor. This award, overseen by the University Research Committee, was established to recognize the contributions of Emory faculty members to the advancement of scientific knowledge. Each year, one award is given to a junior faculty member and one award is given to a senior (defined as associate rank or above) faculty member in the fields of mathematics, social, chemical, physical and biological sciences. Thomson Reuters released "Highly Cited Researchers 2014" that identifies more than 3,000 researchers worldwide who wrote the greatest numbers of highly cited papers over the past decade. These researchers ranked in the top 1% most cited for their subject field and year of publication, "earning them the mark of exceptional impact," says the site. Among them were several Emory faculty, most of which are ACTSI-supported investigators, including Dr. Shaw.

Shaw was a 2013 recipient of the Women’s Day Red Dress Award. The award is given to members of the media, patients, and medical community who have made a difference heart disease in women. She received the award from Woman's Day magazine at their 10th annual gala in February 2013. The awards spotlight those who have made a significant contribution to the prevention of heart disease in women.
