The Georgia Clinical & Translational Science Alliance’s Community Engagement program supports community‐university research and outreach partnerships, obtains community input into university research, and increases health research in community settings that is responsive to the health needs of the community – the purpose being to improve the quality of life and health throughout Georgia.
Translational science or research is the process of turning observations in the laboratory, clinic, and community into interventions, both in the clinical setting and in the community that improve the health of individuals and the public – from diagnostics and therapeutics to medical procedures and behavioral changes.
