Recruiting Interprofessional Students & Faculty Mentors Addressing Hotspotting at Grady-Applications Due Wednesday
Only 5% of patients in the U.S. account for >50% of healthcare costs. These patients are frequently admitted to the ER and are called “High Utilizers.” Hotspotting is an intervention that helps these patients and decreases healthcare costs. Are you interested in joining a team of interprofesional students addressing this issue at Grady? Apply today to join Atlanta’s interdisciplinary student hotspotting program, funded by Institute for Healthcare Improvement and Georgia CTSA.
This is an opportunity for all Georgia CTSA academic institutions’ students and faculty. As a student hotspotter, you will partner with Grady’s high utilizers to address personal and social factors contributing to frequent hospitalization. In addition, you have the opportunity to participate in a unique interdisciplinary student team.
We’re looking for law, medicine, social work, business, nursing, PA, pharmacy, and any other interested allied health students to join our team. As a student hotspotter, you get to...
- Work with socially and medically complex patients
- Engage with patients both at Grady hospital and in their communities
- Partner with patients in managing barriers to healthy living
- Learn how to lead an elite interdisciplinary team
- Work flexible hours (~5 hrs/week)
