Congratulations to Joni L. Rutter, PhD, named by NIH as the director of the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS). Rutter will lead NIH efforts to speed translation of scientific discoveries into new treatments and other health interventions. Over the past 18 months, Dr. Rutter served as acting director. Dr. Rutter penned a message where she reflects on her new role, the Center’s culture and community, and priorities.
