Consortial Activities

With support of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) program launched in 2006 and expanded to over 60 academic medical institutions across the country. Each component of the CTSA program is crucial in supporting the mission: Accelerating Discoveries Toward Better Health. Emory University, with partners Morehouse School of Medicine and Georgia Institute of Technology, was awarded a CTSA in 2007, the award was renewed in 2012, and renewed again in 2017 with the addition of the University of Georgia. Georgia CTSA works closely with other CTSAs across the country sharing best practices and innovative strategies to accelerate discovery.

Along with attending annual face-to-face meetings and participating in consortium-wide projects, Georgia CTSA also actively participates in each CTSA Domain Task Force including:

  • Collaboration/Engagement
  • Informatics
  • Integration Across the Lifespan
  • Methods/Processes
  • Workforce Development
